BrowserMedia Launches Minnesota Council of Nonprofits Website

posted April 26, 2011

BETHESDA, MD (April 26th, 2011) -- BrowserMedia announced today the launch of the redesigned Minnesota Council of Nonprofits (MCN) website, viewable at http://www.minnesotanonprofits.org. BrowserMedia provided the complete interactive solution for MCN, including information architecture, creative, technology, hosting, and microsite development.

A central goal of the redesigned site was to create a more interactive user community for MCN's membership. In order to engage MCN's membership, BrowserMedia designed and developed the new site to include various interactive tools and features, including a job board, user comments module, ratings module, dynamic events module, polling module and RSS feeds. The entire platform was developed using open source technology, through the use of the BrowserCMS Ruby on Rails content management system. BrowserMedia implemented a Central Authentication Service (CAS) model to allow for a seamless Single Sign-On (SSO) experience between the content management system and ACGI's Association Anywhere platform, MCN's existing Association Management System (AMS). BrowserMedia also integrated a Google Search Appliance (GSA) to allow users to search both public and private content on the site.

BrowserMedia also developed two microsites for MCN that were launched simultaneously with the redesign of their primary website:

Christine Durand, Communications and Marketing Director for MCN, said at the time of the launch, "We are super excited that we have everything up and running. I can't thank you enough for your guidance through the process. We are already hearing back from visitors - great stuff."
