WeatherBug
Overview
WeatherBug is the leading provider of weather information services. It owns and operates a proprietary network of 8,000 WeatherBug Tracking Stations and more than 1,000 strategically placed cameras at schools, public safety facilities and television stations throughout the US. The WeatherBug software product grants more than 19 million users access to real-time weather information updates from the convenience of their desktop. WeatherBug services are provided free of charge, but rely on advertising revenue to fund its continued development and service. The Challenge
WeatherBug already provided a consistent and reliable service to users, however, they were not pulling in enough revenue from posted advertisements. This dilemma could have forced WeatherBug to charge users for services, making a drastic cut in their user base and damaging their hold in the industry. WeatherBug then turned to BrowserMedia for development and marketing solutions to bolster their revenue in hopes that renovations would preserve the free services. Logos
The Solution
BrowserMedia devised an online strategy to maximize advertising revenue by developing branded product skins for WeatherBug's advertisers. BrowserMedia developed more than 20 branded product skins that completely integrate the look and feel of WeatherBug's best advertisers into the user interface of the product. Results
Advertisers such as Pfizer, Yahoo, Mercedes-Benz, Verizon, and the New York Times were attracted to the new advertising program. The branded product skins are delivered dynamically to regionally targeted markets based on WeatherBug user demographics. WeatherBug's advertisers now enjoy highly-targeted and extremely effective branding campaigns, while users of the WeatherBug product remain uninhibited by pop-up ads and other more obtrusive advertising strategies.

Your weather just got better, and so did your online experience.
