The International Society of Pharmaceutical Engineers is the world's largest non-profit association dedicated to the education and advancement of pharmaceutical manufacturing professionals. Under the leadership of the world's top pharmaceutical professionals, ISPE works together with industry experts, technologists, regulators, consultants and students to improve the field and community in which it operates. In the 26 years since its 1980 inception, ISPE has grown to serve more than 23,000 members in 80 countries.

ISPE had an iMIS association management system and a legacy CMS hosted on two in-house servers that were not integrated with one another. Additionally, a public relations firm had been working with ISPE on the visual branding for the association, which needed to be integrated into an updated website.

BrowserMedia worked closely with BroadPoint Technologies to integrate BrowserCMS with ISPE's existing iMIS eSeries association management system. The BrowserCMS content tagging module gave ISPE the tools to organize their more than 14,000 pages of content into a usable and easily maintainable architecture. BrowserCMS's built-in spidering and search engine technology allows site visitors to easily locate pages, PDFs and Microsoft Office documents from the ISPE's huge content library. BrowserMedia trained ISPE staff on the BrowserCMS platform, allowing them to distribute content authoring to a much larger internal work force. In addition, BrowserMedia provided advanced training to ISPE's in-house technical staff, giving them complete flexibility to control templates and create new, dynamic functionality for their site.

ISPE's site has been widely popular and successful among its members and site users. As an international organization with an expansive membership, the site has been instrumental in fleshing out the latest updates and progress in the industry. Visually, the redesign has helped scale the society down from an international level to a personal one; world maps fading into faces, communities and social interactions help connect the individual to the larger purpose.
Chapter sites also share the same template to link each back to the larger organization, something important to ISPE. The strengthened branding across the board and multiple language versions helps to continue the promotion of ISPE as a leader in the pharmaceutical engineering field worldwide.
Mark Stefko, ISPE Vice President of Marketing & Sales, has also reported success with the newly redesigned site. "The Content Management system from Browser Media has enabled ISPE to make its content management more efficient," he said. "We are able to repurpose copy without devoting resources to its duplication. The CMS empowers our Chapters and Affiliates to have authorship over their own websites. The interface by the CMS is also intuitive and keeps us informed of our progress on specific tasks."
