Education Finance Council
Overview
Established in 1993, the Education Finance Council (EFC) is dedicated to making college more affordable for all students throughout the United States. Their mission is to expand access to higher education by ensuring that student loan funds are available. A Washington, D.C. based trade association, EFC represents non-for-profit and state-based student loan secondary market organizations that include scholarship funding corporations. As a trusted resource for students, parents, policymakers and the media, members turn to EFC for many of its important programs including interest rate deductions; loan forgiveness for public servants, military personnel and high-demand professionals; loan relief for first-year college students; and college outreach and access programs. The Challenge
Help manage the Education Finance Council's membership online.

The Education Finance Council offers two levels of membership: Voting and Affiliate. Members frequently visited the site for extensive information, research, surveys, reports, publications, conferences and assistance. The organization's small staff had difficulty managing memberships through their existing website. In addition, users had become frustrated trying to find the information they sought on the site.

The Solution
BrowserMedia's team began working on an ambitious project that included an overall redesign of their website and a host of new functionality. BrowserMedia started with the BrowserCMS framework and implemented a series of modules to provide a comprehensive package. The BrowserCMS Events Module gives EFC staff the ability to create new conferences and accept credit card payments for registration. The BrowserCMS Membership Module allows EFC staff to administer their corporate and individual memberships effortlessly, while giving members access to privileged content and resources on the site. Finally, a custom Committees Module allows EFC to organize and manage the various committees that work within the organization. Using the standard content management tools of BrowserCMS, EFC staff can maintain their entire website in-house. Results
As a result of the redesigned website and BrowserCMS system and modules, the Education Finance Council's staff now spends less time on administration tasks and can easily manage their entire membership through their website. The new user-friendly redesign has received outstanding feedback from their members. Members, parents, students, policymakers and the media can now search and locate important information about making college more affordable promptly and without any frustrations.
