Associated General Contractors of America
Overview
Established in 1918 after a request by President Woodrow Wilson, The Associated General Contractors of America was founded as the voice of the construction industry in America. More than 85 years later, AGC is the nation's largest and oldest construction trade association. Composed of qualified construction contractors and industry related companies, AGC members remain dedicated to improving the industry while protecting the public interest. The Challenge
Construct AGC’s website to be low maintenance while handling high traffic volume.

The Associated General Contractors of America has more than 33,000 members in 100 chapters throughout the nation. The growth of their membership and interest in the organization continued to generate a high volume of user traffic that outgrew their existing web solution. Their extensive website contained more than 1,500 pages, which needed to be updated with the latest information and news on a regular basis to keep users and the public informed. In addition, AGC needed easier navigation tools to help users find information quickly.

The Solution
BrowserMedia redesigned the AGC website to improve navigation and workflow, allowing users to quickly locate the information they seek. BrowserCMS was integrated into the site redesign, allowing AGC staff to add or modify content in real time. Working with AGC's existing iMIS consultant, BrowserCMS was configured to seamlessly pass authentication information between the two systems and was integrated with the latest iMIS eSeries modules. Existing legacy ColdFusion and ASP applications were also brought into the framework. Results
As the voice of the construction industry, The Associated General Contractors of America now has a successful new public image that is commanding and well organized. Using BrowserCMS, AGC staff are now able to easily update and maintain their growing content repository, and distribute maintenance tasks internally for faster updates and better member communications. The integration with the iMIS AMS and other existing legacy applications provides a seamless user experience. The AGC.org website has quickly become a valuable membership tool, and website usage is up more than 150%.
